Message from the CEO & Founder
My first encounter with computers was at the University of Virginia in the mid-1960s. I was a graduate student in physics and programmed in the computer language ALGOL to solve physics problems on a Burroughs mainframe computer. My early experience with information technology (IT) had a lasting impact on my professional life, changing not only my academic orientation (I subsequently earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science), but my career experiences as well. After successful and professionally rewarding careers with IBM and as a college professor at the University of Saigon and Georgetown University, I established Pragmatics, Inc. in 1985.
My objective in establishing Pragmatics was to build an organization highly skilled at developing technology-oriented solutions for information management requirements. My pursuit has been not to create a large organization that attempts to do everything, but rather a technologically focused organization which seeks to be recognized for the quality of its work and the satisfaction of its clients.
I am proud that Pragmatics has grown at an impressive rate without sacrificing quality, while maintaining its focus in the IT field. Pragmatics takes special pride not only in the highly qualified management and technical staff we bring to each project, but also in our responsiveness, integrity, high sense of ethics, and dedication to our customer’s mission. We focus on employee development to provide staff who are proficient in the latest technologies. We are a process-driven company that applies industry best practices in a repeatable manner to ensure consistently superior outcomes and reduce client risk.
We at Pragmatics welcome the opportunity to include you in the Pragmatics success story, as an employee, a client, or a teammate! I invite you to explore these opportunities within our Web site.
